What is sonar tracing?

Sonar tracing transmits electrical pulses, which are picked up by a receiver, to help us pinpoint the drain runs, without needing to dig anything up first. It is often used alongside CCTV equipment to trace and inspect drains, and identify blockages, collapses and other issues.

Drain dye is another tool in our arsenal that helps us locate drain runs or to identify any potential leaking drains. Often used when sonar equipment cannot identify drainage systems in full, we use a non-toxic brightly-coloured dye, that allows us to easily locate the downstream end of your drain system, and how quickly it is flowing. It can also be used to identify leaks and water pathways.
